Many of us love travelling but when it comes to flight tickets, we often need to pay a high price for air tickets. No need to worry from now as I will be giving some tips and tricks.
Firstly, you need to be flexible with your travel times and dates. The best solution is to fly off-season or even sometimes advance booking helps a lot. Prices are high during any festival times.
Try to fly with budget carriers. You must be thinking what a budget carrier is? Budget carriers are something which might not be as comfortable as you usually get but you can upgrade your bags and meals and sometimes seats by paying some extra cash. Since most of the budget airlines mainly operate regionally it is easy to find cheap flights even during the peak times.
I traveled with Airasia which is a renowned budget carrier in Asia. They offer carry on 7kg but if you need to carry checked bags then you need to pay extra. They often give some cool deals, for example during the covid time I even got a ticket from KLIA to LGK for 12 MYR (2.69 USD). There is another airline I must recommend which is Southwest. They operate inside United States, the best part is they offer two checked bags for free and the prices are also cheap compare to JetBlue or other airlines.
I have listed some most affordable airlines in the world for you to view and check,
Asia
· Air Asia
· Jeju Air
· Scoot
· Nok Air
· Lion Air
· IndiGo
Europe
· Vueling
· Ryanair
· Easyjet
· Wizz Air
Australia/New Zealand
· JetStar
Middle East
· Pegasus
· flyDubai
Canada
· Swoop
· Porter
· Sunwing
· WestJet
United States
· Frontier
· JetBlue
If you are looking for cheap tickets, then you should avoid direct flying and accept longer transit time. Last year I used Turkish airlines to fly to Boston from Kuala Lumpur. I had two options one was to stay at the airport for 2 hours and another one was to stay for 8 hours. I took the second option, and it was cheap. I would suggest you to use Rome2Rio to help search for the best ways to get between a nearby airport and your primary destination.
Make sure you’ve signed up for some newsletters. Also try to create membership accounts. If you are a student then you should consider yourself lucky because Emirates gives 10% student discount and Turkish airways have special discounts for students, you just need to upload some documents like student id or offer letter to get verified as a student traveler.
Even websites like Student Universe and Flight Centre offers deals for students.
Lastly, you need to remember that not all search engines are equal. Because these airlines do not want to pay a booking commission, many prominent search engines do not list budget airlines or obscure foreign carriers. Some websites don’t list non-English language booking sites. Others still only show costs that have been obtained directly from airlines. Basically, all flight search websites are not created equally, and they have their pros and cons.
Usually, I use Skyscanner and google flights in incognito mode to do my research and find the best one.
